Saudi Arabia gave women permission to drive and this is the first thing they do š
This shitās harder than ANY post malone track
Somebody on twitter called her SaudiB
This track is hard
I saw that someone who speaks Arabic took a stab at translating it and it turns out sheās basically doing a PSA about safe driving rules and I fell in love
I want you all to know that an Arab Muslim from Tunis proposed the Theory of Evolution near 600 years before Charles Darwin even took his first breath. Donāt let them erase you.
his name is Ibn Khaldun
Also, it was not the apple falling from a tree that made Issac Newton ādiscoverā gravity. He was reading the books of Ibn Al Haytham, an Arab Muslim from Iraq, who pioneered the scientific method, discovered gravity and wrote about the laws governing the movement of bodies (now known as Newtons three laws of motion) some 600 years before Newton existed. Without him, modern science as we know it wouldnāt exist. Read on him. His achievements are far greater than what Iāve just mentioned here.
#no offense but arabs literally invented chemistry and algebra and we came up with the concept of the camera #the cataract operation thatās still practiced today was invented by an Arab #we created alchemy and the wright brothers used abbas ibn firnasā findings and writings to build on to create a plane #I could go on and on and on #pls donāt erase our scientific history
I reblog this post every time I see it
We fucking replaced a Muslim scientist with an apple?
In the middle ages, THE place to go for an education was the middle East, or, failing that, Spain. The Muslim world didnāt have the same limits placed on scientific inquiry that the Christian world did, and since they were willing to look at more than just Aristotole and actually compare texts to the observable world, they had some incredible scientific and mathematical advancements. And street lights and toilets. I mean theories and algebra are great and all, but street lights and toilets. In the 12th century. Also medical advancements, and fewer rules against women studying. Hell, women *should* be the ones studying the female body, would you rather a woman see your female relatives, or some old man? Would you rather have someone who lives in the same kind of body, or one who has no first hand idea what the parts can do?
Reminder: trans Muslims and gay Muslims exist and weāre not going anywhere.
The amount of support that this post has gotten is, quite honestly, incredible. LGBT Muslims are constantly forgotten and ignored because people from both the LGBT community and the Muslim community view our existence as a contradiction or an impossibility. Itās time that people acknowledge us and our experiences with islamophobia and homophobia/transphobia because like I said: weāre not going anywhere.Ā
According to Pew Research Forumās latest numbers on Muslims in the United States:
- 45% believe homosexuality is acceptable
- 42% believe same-sex marriage should be legal
Those numbers are fairly consistent with self-identified Christians in the same country. Ergo, if you live in the U.S. and can get your head around LGBT+ Christians, you should have no trouble throwing the olā brain lasso around LGBT+ Muslims.
When given the ability to live in a true democracy with freedom of religion, many people have no trouble reconciling their faith with their identity, or the identities of others. We should all understand that and support it, and at the same time, never forget about those trapped in the terrible laws of hostile governments.
Weāre here; weāre not haram; get used to it.
A little girl hears for the first time the Muslim call to prayer.
Subhanallah
If you donāt think the call to prayer is one of the dopest sounds out there, you have no ears.
this is beautiful.
āThatās a good one.ā Sheās so mesmerized! And her mom just doesnāt even notice.Ā
I love this because a lot of the time in western culture Muslim traditions and practices donāt get highlighted for the beautiful things they are and hereās a little girl exposed to just a small aspect of that and sheās in awe. Thatās wonderful.
The true look of wonder in this girls eyesā¦. It is truly a beautiful thing
