Most Ancient Egyptian statues were defaced (or de-nosed, more accurately) by other ancient Egyptians, specifically laborers who were attempting to exact some measure of revenge on the pharaohs and other leaders that these statues depicted. Yes PLEASE do this. I’m hard of hearing and when someone says “nevermind” it always feels like they’re actually saying “ugh your hearing loss is such a pain in the ass, it’s not worth the damn effort” even if that isnt the truth. I don’t care how dumb it is, the clarification makes me feel so much better.
